ARABC 001A Elementary Arabic 5 Units
Students will develop a basic ability to understand, speak, read, and write the Arabic language. They will learn frequently used sentence patterns that allow them to communicate on a basic level utilizing their reading and writing skills; and students will learn and appreciate diverse Arabic culturally appropriate practices.The Arabic taught in this course is Modern Standard Arabic (MSA); however, references will be made to major dialects in the Arab World (Levantine & Egyptian).

ARABC 001B Elementary Arabic 5 Units
Students will develop their communication skills to the mid- to high-novice level in all of the five areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will acquire additional vocabulary, and will read and write simple materials. Students will continue to explore and develop an appreciation for the divers cultures of the Arabic-speaking world. Arabic taught in this course is Modern Standard Arabic (MSA); however, references will be made to major dialects in the Arab World (Levantine & Egyptian).
