Geography

About the Program

The Geography program includes courses focused on the subject matter knowledge and competence needed to study and interpret global issues and challenges. In pursuing the Associate in Arts in Geography for Transfer degree, students majoring in geography develop critical thinking, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills. As geography majors, students have learning opportunities that are relevant to many types of careers in education, business and governmental agencies. The current need global awareness and knowledge of the earth’s diversity and the use of spatial technologies make geography a relevant and useful field of study.
