Broadcasting (BROAD)

BROAD 042A     Beginning Radio Production     3 Units

Students will be introduced to the theory, fundamentals and practices of radio production. They will develop basic knowledge and skills needed for live and pre-recorded broadcasting and podcasting. Students will operate radio equipment, use audio editing software, and write and broadcast within a variety of radio formats.

BROAD 042B     Intermediate Radio Production     3 Units

Students will improve their skills in the essentials of broadcasting, encompassing recurring on-air performances, specialty programs, campus events, PSAs, technical operations, podcasting, history, government regulations, and industry standards. Students will also develop vital station management skills. There may be optional field trips offered.

BROAD 042C     Advanced Radio Production     3 Units

Students will study advanced on-air presentation, station management and operations, and multi-platform broadcasting, including podcasting. Students will manage, operate equipment, and lead on-air programs for the campus radio station. There may be optional field trips offered.
