Transfer Admission Agreements (TAA) and Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)
Guaranteed Admissions
San Jose City College participates in 9 different transfer agreements with California universities and colleges. These agreements offer our students a transfer pathway to each institution with unique benefits for transfer eligibility. Students are highly encouraged to meet with their counselor in planning for transfer admission eligibility and to visit the Career Transfer Center for additional information, workshops, and events that support these programs.
UC Transfer Admissions guarantee (TAG)
The UC TAG offers California Community College students a guaranteed transfer pathway to one of the following participating campuses,
- University of California, Davis
- University of California, Irvine
- University of California, Merced
- University of California, Riverside
- University of California, Santa Barbara
- University of California, Santa Cruz
Students can only apply for TAG to one participating UC Campus. Each UC campus includes their own set of guidelines for student’s applicants—such as the list of majors open for TAG or the GPA eligibility for the TAG. Students are encouraged to plan with their Counselor for the UC TAG eligibility, utilize the UC TAP resource to communicate early with UC representatives for additional support and to attend a “UC TAP to TAG” application workshop in the Career Transfer Center in September for assistance reviewing their UC TAG application.

Santa Clara University (SCU) offers a Transfer Admissions Agreement for the Fall term for each of their schools, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the Leavey School of Business, and the School of Engineering. Students must meet the GPA criteria and major preparation coursework for the TAA and are advised to work with their counselor to plan for these pathways.
