Communication Studies and Mass Media - Certificate of Achievement Level 1
The Certificate of Achievement in Communication Studies and Mass Media is designed to support both current employees seeking professional development and individuals pursuing personal growth and employability. A grade of “C” or better is required for each course in the major or area of emphasis. A ‘P’ (Pass) grade is an acceptable grade for courses in the major if the course is taken on a “pass/no pass” basis.

- Compose, and deliver speeches to inform, speeches to persuade, speeches to entertain, using an extemporaneous delivery style with an outline.
- Utilize effective conflict management strategies.
- Describe cognitive processes by which media are presented.
